Because of delays in launching an updated version of Siri and changes in leadership, Apple is facing challenges in developing artificial intelligence. However, that hasn’t stopped the company from planning to incorporate AI technology into its wearable devices. In addition, rumors have surfaced that Apple is considering putting cameras on AirPods and the Apple Watch.

Another rumor has surfaced that Apple is considering putting cameras on AirPods and the Apple Watch.

In his Power On newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that Apple is developing Apple Watch models with built-in cameras. This feature could allow the device to “see” the world around it and use artificial intelligence to provide useful information.

According to Gurman, the cameras will be installed in both the standard Series and Ultra models. On the standard watches, the camera will be integrated into the display, while on the Ultra, it will be located on the side, near the crown and the button.

Although the ability to make video calls on the Apple Watch with a camera isn’t a priority for the company, the new feature could be used to gather information. The new models aren’t expected to hit the market until 2027 at the earliest.

The concept of putting a camera on the Apple Watch to provide information still needs to be refined, and its functionality remains questionable. Still, cameras could be useful for apps like Activity and Maps. At the same time, such a feature could raise privacy concerns if it’s capable of recording video.

Apple may consider Humane’s AI Pin experience, although that product failed to live up to expectations and was sold to HP. The AI Pin had a 13-megapixel ultra-wide camera that allowed users to capture important moments and information. The camera on the Apple Watch could also be used to translate texts, similar to the Live Text feature on the iPhone.
