Sony revealed two Bravia series projectors for home theater applications

Sony has announced the release of two new projectors in its Bravia lineup. The top-of-the-line model features a laser light source with an impressive 3,400 lumens, automatic image adjustment and a premium price.

The Bravia 9 is equipped with a 0.61-inch SXRD laser that produces 3,400 lumens of light. The device supports 4K image transmission and has a 2.1x zoom. It integrates Sony’s XR processor, HLG and HDR10 technologies, Live Colour Enhancer, as well as XR Clear Image, Dynamic Tone Mapping, XR Deep Black and XR TRILUMINOS Pro.

The camera features an auto-focus lens with a 70mm aspherical lens. It supports ±85% vertical image shift and ±36% horizontal image shift. The projection ratio ranges from 1.35 to 2.84 and input latency is 12 ms. There’s also ALLM, two HDMI 2.1 ports, keystone correction and instant switching between 2.35:1 and 16:9 formats without the need for lens adjustment.

The Bravia 7 model also uses a laser light source, but its maximum brightness is limited to 2,200 lumens. Lens shift parameters are also different: ±71% vertically, ±25% horizontally, and the projection ratio ranges from 1.38 to 2.21. Otherwise, the performance of both models is identical.
The Bravia 7 will cost $7 585 (598 000 rubles), while the Bravia 9 will cost $19 839 (about 1.6 million rubles).
