Sony has unveiled a series of PlayStation consoles and accessories to celebrate the company’s 30th anniversary

This year, Sony is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the PlayStation brand and to commemorate the occasion, it’s releasing a limited edition console and accessories.

This limited edition includes a digital version of the PlayStation 5, the new PlayStation 5 Pro, DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers, and the PlayStation Portal.

These units are all in gray, reminiscent of the original PlayStation model released on December 3, 1994. The consoles have light gray exterior panels and a dark gray interior case with the original four-color PlayStation logo on the side. The back panel also features a special 30th anniversary logo, and the inside of the outer panels are — embossed in a small, repeating pattern.

The two models, the digital PS5 and PS5 Pro, also come with matching accessories. The standard DualSense controller also comes in a gray color scheme, with a four-color PlayStation logo and a textured 30th Anniversary logo pattern. It comes with a special USB-C cable with a thick attachment point that mimics the old PlayStation controller cable.

Sony is also including rubber cable ties in the form of PlayStation icons, a PlayStation sticker, a PlayStation paperclip, and a limited-edition PlayStation poster with one of 30 possible designs. Since both consoles are digital, the set also includes a plate of the corresponding color of the floppy disk version.

All units will come in special packaging with a design similar to the original PlayStation.

Sony sells consoles in bundles. The PS5 Pro bundle includes the console with a matching DualSense and DualSense Pro controller, a DualSense charging station and the aforementioned accessories. The console will be released in a limited edition of — 12300 units, with its number printed on the side of each one.

The limited edition Sony PlayStation Portal will be sold separately. You can also purchase a limited edition DualSense Edge, which also comes with a case, and a standard DualSense.

The only thing missing from this celebration — is a PS5 version with a drive. If you want a floppy disk drive, you’ll have to buy one separately, as both consoles are designed only for digital versions of games.

The limited editions will be available for pre-order starting Sept. 26 at direct.playstation.com and participating retailers, with the exception of the basic PS5 digital version, which will be available at participating retailers starting Oct. 10. All of them will go on sale on November 21. No information on pricing is available yet.
