Samsung has patented a stretchable-foldable gadget with a plug-in keyboard

Samsung Display has filed a patent with China’s National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) for a device with a flexible and expandable screen that can be further connected to an external keyboard.
In the images shown, you can see that in its normal state, the device looks like an almost square tablet. There’s a hinge at the bottom that allows about a quarter of the screen to bend 180 degrees. A keyboard is connected to the same part, forming a sort of laptop. The top part then pulls out, increasing the height of the display.
The company’s employees may have decided to simply combine different developments into one patent. The release of such a gadget in the near future seems unlikely, as we’ve seen a few tablets/laptops with a similar idea, but they’re not in high demand.
