Wear OS-based watches are striding into the future thanks to artificial intelligence, but older Tizen-based watches are slowly fading into the sunset. The Galaxy Store app has announced that support for older models will end later this year.

This will affect all Tizen OS-based watches. Samsung has several of them, from the Galaxy Watch series to the Watch 3, as well as two Watch Active models.

As of September 30 this year, users won’t be able to download paid apps on Tizen OS. And as of May 31, 2025, free apps will no longer be available.

Already installed apps will continue to work, so if you own a Tizen-powered watch, consider downloading everything you need beforehand.
