Samsung is working on an image sensor with its own artificial intelligence

Samsung is supposedly working on a new image sensor with integrated artificial intelligence. The sensor would have its own microprocessor and memory, solutions Sony already had.

Remember, Samsung announced Zoom Anyplace technology based on artificial intelligence. Perhaps the company wants the technology to run autonomously on the camera sensor without using the main SoC. It’s a decision that could change the way mobile photography is viewed, improving content at the shooting stage.
Now, the sensor takes the shot in raw form, after which algorithms process the content and store the data in the device’s memory. If the AI module was right in the sensor, the quality of the footage would be impeccable. However, it will need additional performance and space for the sensor in the camera. You also need to realize that the chip tends to heat up, and the load can cause overheating without a proper heat dissipation system.
Anything that can be done with the AI module is a good idea.
When such sensors will be available on the market is still unclear, but we can assume that Samsung will equip its flagship Galaxy S Ultra smartphone with them.
