LG Display has unveiled its next-generation MLA-OLED panel

LG Display has revealed details of its future plans at CES 2024 in Las Vegas. The details were revealed in private briefings, with the website offering only «information». LG Display and Samsung Display unveiled the OLED G4 and S95D panels at CES 2024, respectively.

The two panels achieve a peak brightness of 3,000 nits at 3% APL, but cannot maintain that brightness across the entire panel. The brightness of LG’s MLA-OLED panels will drop to 250 nits when displaying an all-white image, while Samsung’s latest QD-OLED technology can reach 300 nits under the same conditions. LG Display has demonstrated next-generation MLA-OLED panels that will be ready by 2025. LG Display will likely return to Las Vegas next January for CES 2025, showcasing even brighter variants than the ones it will mass-produce throughout 2024.
