IFA 2025: Samsung unveils Sound Tower ST50F and ST40F portable speakers

Samsung Electronics has announced two new portable speakers, the Sound Tower ST50F and ST40F. Both devices are designed for home and outdoor parties, getting updated sound, backlighting, and increased portability.
The ST50F delivers 240 watts through two 6.5-inch subwoofers and 25mm dome tweeters, while the ST40F delivers 160 watts through two 5.25-inch subwoofers and 20mm tweeters. The updated acoustic design with Waveguide technology improves sound distribution, creating a wider stage with clean highs and rich bass. Bass can be adjusted in three modes: Deep, Punchy and Gentle. Additionally, four sound profiles – Standard, Wide, Stadium and Outdoor – are available to customize the sound for different scenarios.
The ST50F lasts up to 18 hours on a single charge, while the ST40F lasts up to 12 hours. Both models have replaceable batteries and are IPX4 protected against splashing water. Multiple speakers can be paired via Auracast Group Play, and when paired together in True Wireless Stereo mode, they deliver full stereo sound.

The speakers feature the Party Lights+ lighting system, which responds to music in real time. Five presets and six dynamic effects (Wave, Trail, Spark, Breeze, Flow and Flare) are available. Illumination is spread across five areas of the cabinet: a light track around the subwoofers, rings around the tweeters, side lines, crystal illumination at the base and an illuminated knob with control panel.
For parties, there are DJ Booth and karaoke modes, as well as a guitar input. In terms of portability, the ST40F has a built-in handle, while the ST50F has wheels and a retractable handle in Samsung’s signature Grip and Roll concept.
Samsung Sound Tower ST50F and ST40F go on sale this month at Samsung.com and select retailers. The ST50F will be priced at $699.99 and the ST40F will be priced at $499.99.
