IFA 2023. Anker’s new MagGo wireless chargers can charge as fast as MagSafe

With the new Qi2 wireless charging technology, Anker’s next generation of chargers will be able to charge iPhones at 15 watts wirelessly — if Apple allows it.

Anker’s new batch of mobile accessories includes new MagGo magnetic chargers with Qi2 support, stations and power banks, as well as new Nano USB-C chargers for future iPhone 15 owners who may be looking to ditch their old Lightning-equipped devices to use with the new phones and AirPods. Support for the Qi2 standard is rumored to be coming along with the release of the iPhone 15, possibly providing 15W charging speeds without Apple’s MagSafe certification.

Apple has yet to confirm its plans for this, however, and we’ll soon find out if other manufacturers will update their devices for Qi2 or support the spec in new phones coming out later this year, such as the Pixel 8 series.

Support for the next version of the Qi wireless charging standard means the inclusion of a circular arrangement of magnets, based on Apple’s data and consistent with the MagSafe design. Anker’s previous MagGo device was only «MagSafe-compatible» which tends to be cheaper, but limits iPhone charging to 7.5 watts compared to the 15 watts available for MagSafe devices.

Anker’s first Qi2-capable MagGo device — it’s a portable Power Bank (pictured above) that features a footrest and a USB-C port for charging other devices up to 27 watts. This time it features an LCD display on the side that informs the status of the 10,000 mAh battery and will be available in a variety of colors. Anker is also releasing a 6,600mAh Power Bank that folds up and turns into a more durable stand —perfect for supporting iOS 17’s StandBy mode.
