Garmin unveiled the Vivoactive 6 watch with an updated display and new features

Garmin has officially announced the Vivoactive 6, a new model in its fitness watch lineup. The device will go on sale on April 4 for $299.99, keeping the price of its predecessor. Major upgrades include a brighter AMOLED display, an improved interface and enhanced health and workout monitoring capabilities.
Brighter screen and longer battery life
Vivoactive 6 is the successor to the 2023 model, which got a AMOLED screen for the first time. The new display retains the same size and 42mm body, but now promises better brightness and readability. The device’s battery life remains the same – up to 11 days in smartwatch mode or up to 21 hours with active GPS.
New features for sports and sleep
Although the design hasn’t changed significantly, Garmin has added several important software features. Among them:
- “Smart Alarm Clock”, which wakes the user during the light sleep phase.
- Customizable morning report including sleep estimation, heart rate variability (HRV), Body Battery energy level and other parameters.
- Additional metrics for runners such as step frequency, stride length, ground contact time and PacePro strategy.
- Expanded set of sports profiles with over 80 workouts including mobility and functional training
- Mode for wheelchair users that tracks pushes and adapted workouts
In addition, the animated workout feature that was missing from the Vivoactive 5 is back.

Garmin’s full feature set
Vivoactive 6 inherits most of Garmin’s branded features for health and convenience:
- Body Battery energy monitoring, stress tracking, Pulse Ox sensor, and sleep analysis with coaching
- Contactless payments via Garmin Pay
- Listening to music without your phone, support for Spotify, Amazon Music and Deezer
- Sending messages and notifications, including quick replies from the watch (Android only)
Start of sales and colors
- Black/Slate
- Bone/Lunar Gold
- Jasper Green (green)
- Pink Dawn (pink)
The watch retains its 42mm size, aluminum bezel and silicone strap. While the updates aren’t revolutionary, Garmin once again offers a balanced device that doesn’t appear to disappoint the brand’s fans.
