CES 2025: Samsung launched the QS700F and Q990 soundbars

At CES 2025, Samsung showed off new soundbars as well as updates to existing models. One of the new products was the HW-QS700F, a new speaker that can be placed on a shelf or TV stand, as well as mounted on a wall at a 90-degree angle. A special feature of the QS700F is its ability to automatically optimize the sound depending on how it is positioned, thanks to its built-in gyroscope. The speaker will come with a redesigned subwoofer that also comes with the new Q990F.

The new HW-QS700F – flexibility and quality sound

.

In the demo, the QS700F sounded as crisp and clear as the older Q990F model, though I could only hear it for a few seconds in a noisy room. However, given Samsung’s signature sound quality, you’d expect clear sound and powerful bass to be the model’s main features. The subwoofer provides enough depth to fill a room despite the noise around it.

The updated HW-Q990F flagship is smaller but more powerful

The updated HW-Q990F retains the all-in-one concept with a wireless subwoofer and rear satellite speakers, but now the subwoofer is half the size. That said, Samsung claims that the unit’s sound power has increased. For those who used the previous models, the improvement will likely be noticeable, as the old subwoofer was really bulky.

And the subwoofer is now smaller than before.

Q990F retains its status as an 11.1.4-channel speaker with Dolby Atmos support, which delivers crystal-clear sound and volume effect. The rear speakers also feature upward-facing drivers to enhance the immersive effect. Having all the components in one package makes it easy to use and saves you money on additional purchases.

Sound Enhancement Products – Active Voice Amplifier Pro and Q-Symphony Pro

Samsung has introduced artificial intelligence to improve the sound quality of its soundbars. Two new features, Active Voice Amplifier Pro and Q-Symphony Pro, use AI to enhance the clarity of dialogues amidst noise and analyze sound with the Samsung TV processor. These features will also be available on the new B-series models, HW-B750F and HW-B650F, which will go on sale in 2025.

Eclipsa Audio is a new 3D audio platform

Another topic discussed at CES was the development of the Eclipsa Audio platform, created in collaboration with Google. There’s little information about this new 3D sound technology so far, but Samsung has said that support for it will be available for the company’s TVs and soundbars in 2025. The platform allows content creators to modify sound data and location for spatialized audio. It could be an alternative to the popular Dolby Atmos.

Samsung is aggressively pushing its sound technology innovations with smaller and more powerful solutions to improve home theater sound quality. Future soundbars supporting Eclipsa Audio and AI features promise to dramatically improve the listening experience, turning an ordinary TV into a complete immersive center. Details on pricing and availability are expected to be announced closer to launch.
