Smart Tx features
Smart Tx is a wireless transmitter that allows you to connect the Tour One M3 to audio sources such as airplane entertainment systems or analog wired connections. The device has a touch screen that allows you to control playback, adjust volume, adjust equalizer, and use the Auracast feature. This feature allows you to stream audio to an unlimited number of Auracast-enabled devices such as headphones, speakers, and other devices. This isn’t the first time JBL has introduced a wireless transmitter, as the Tour Pro 3 headphone case also performs this function, but for headphones, this is the company’s debut.

Sound Quality
Tour One M3 features 40mm diameter Mica Dome drivers, which JBL claims are perfectly tuned to deliver deep bass, balanced midrange and crystal clear treble. The device supports high-quality Bluetooth and lossless audio via USB-C. The headphones also support JBL Spatial 360 head-tracking technology to create a «truly immersive soundscape» similar to that offered by Bose.

Sound Settings with Personi-Fi 3.0
If you don’t like the default sound settings on the Tour One M3, the Personi-Fi 3.0 tool in the JBL Headphones app can help you customize the sound based on a brief hearing test. JBL claims a new algorithm makes this feature «more accurate than ever» to better match your preferences. Additionally, there’s a 12-band equalizer and separate balance settings for the left and right channels.

Noise cancellation and call functionality
The headphones feature True Adaptive Noise Cancelling 2.0 technology, which monitors external sounds and automatically adjusts audio in real time. A system of eight microphones is used for noise cancellation, and there are Ambient Aware and TalkThru modes to stay aware of your surroundings. In addition, Adaptive beamforming technology in the four microphones provides «crystal clear voice quality» during calls.

Autonomy and additional features
The Tour One M3 headphones can last up to 70 hours on a single charge, but it’s not specified whether that figure is maintained with active noise canceling (ANC). The Fast Charge feature allows you to get up to 5 hours of playback in 5 minutes of charging. Also available is SmartTalk, which automatically pauses music playback and activates ambient sounds when the headphones recognize your voice.
