Casio introduces elegant watches with solar charging and radio sync

Casio has expanded its Sheen lineup in Japan with two new analog models – the SHW-5300CGL-7A and SHW-5300PGL-7A. These fresh additions blend classic design with modern tech, targeting everyday wearers who value style and convenience.

Both watches feature radio-controlled time synchronization for Japan and China, allowing automatic time adjustment without manual input. When out of signal range, they maintain accuracy within about ±15 seconds per month. The watches sport a traditional three-hand layout with a date window.

A standout feature is Casio’s Tough Solar technology – a built-in rechargeable battery that charges from ambient light, eliminating the hassle of frequent battery changes. Additionally, the watches boast 100-meter water resistance (10 ATM), so they can handle rain, splashes, and even short swims without issue.

The cases are crafted from stainless steel with a rose-gold ion plating, giving the watches a refined yet premium look. Their dials are protected by sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating for enhanced scratch resistance. Completing the elegant design are natural leather straps with embossed patterns.

The SHW-5300CGL-7A comes with a beige leather strap, while the SHW-5300PGL-7A features a classic black one. Pre-orders are open now in Japan, with a suggested retail price of 35,200 yen (around $224). Both models will hit stores by the end of the month, though Casio hasn’t announced plans for a global release yet.
