Apple is working on AI-powered robots

While the world waits for the next iPhone, Apple is quietly working on technology that could change the way we think about home devices. According to insider information, the company is actively developing robotics, where the key role is played not by hardware, but by advanced AI and the personality of the digital assistant.

Apple is working on a robot that could change the way we think about home devices.

A companion robot instead of a smartphone?”

One of the most elaborate projects is a robotic arm with an iPad-like screen. The device, being developed under the direction of Kevin Lynch, aims to be a universal home assistant. It doesn’t just answer questions – it follows your gaze during video calls, suggests nearby restaurants if you’re discussing dinner, and even “encourages” conversation with an animated interface in the vein of the good old macOS emoji.

But that’s just the beginning. Apple is also experimenting with mobile robots on wheels (competitors to Amazon’s Astro) and even humanoid models. A separate solution is being prepared for industry, a large robotic arm codenamed T1333.

Optimistic scenario suggests that the first commercial models will appear between 2026 and 2027. However, not all of Apple’s projects find their way to customers – think of the story of the car that was never released.
