New action camera with AI for 8K video recording announced – Insta360 X4

Insta360 has introduced the new Insta360 X4 action camera. It is equipped with two lenses and has a number of unique features. The camera can record high-definition video, simulate third-person shooting, and remove selfies from the frame. During the presentation all the features of the new product were explained.
One of the camera’s main features is the ability to hover focus on any subject after shooting, turning 360-degree video into regular video. The camera has two sensors (1/2″) with an aperture of f/1.9 and a focal length of 35mm. Video specs are as follows:
360° mode:
- 8K: 7680×3840 at 30/25/24 fps;
- 5.7K+: 5760×2880 at 30/25/24 fps;
- 5.7K: 5760×2880 at 60/50/30/25/24 fps;
- 4K: 3840×1920 at 100/60/50/50/30/30/25/24 fps;
Single Lens Mode:
- 4K: 3840×2160 at 60/50/30/25/24 fps;
- 2.7K: 2720×1536 at 60/50/30/25/24 fps;
- 1080p: 1920×1080 at 60/50/30/25/24 fps.
Me mode (shooting with selfies with a selfie stick):
- 4K: 3840×2160 at 30/25/24 fps;
- 2.7K: 2720×1536 at 120/100/60/50 fps;
- 1080p: 1920×1080 at 120/100/60/50 fps;
The maximum photo resolution is 11904×5952 pixels, and there is also the option to shoot in DNG format. The ISO value can be set between 100 and 6400, and the shutter speed — 1/8000 to 120 seconds. The battery capacity is 2290 mAh, which allows you to record video at 5.7K quality @ 30fps for 135 minutes. Recording can be monitored via a 2.5-inch display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. You can also protect the lenses with special filters.
Water resistance (up to 10 meters), gesture and voice control, and AI post-processing are also claimed. The latter uses a separate 5nm neural processor.
