AMD integrates FSR into YouTube and VLC

AMD has announced the introduction of FSR image scaling technology to YouTube and VLC. FSR is aimed at improving video content, especially consumer applications. It’s worth noting that the update will be part of the Radeon Adrenalin software. Speaking of which, integration of the video scaling technology is being developed.

FSR is expected to be a competitor to NVIDIA’s RTX Video Super Resolution technology, which debuted at CES 2023. The artificial intelligence-based software uses Tensor Core acceleration to deliver high-resolution video. AMD, it’s worth noting, has already demonstrated video scaling via FSR technology, increasing resolution from native 720p to 1440p without significant quality loss. The FSR technology is gradually being refined to become better and more efficient, and developers can expand the product’s capabilities upon release.
