Victor Pelevin’s new book “Journey to Eleusin”, dedicated to neural networks, has been released.

Today at 20:23 Moscow time, Viktor Pelevin’s new book “Journey to Eleusin”, dedicated to neural networks, was released in Yandex Plus’ book service, Bookmate. A special script has been added to Alice to coincide with the release of the new book: on the command “Alice, what do you think of Pelevin’s new book?” the virtual assistant will read an excerpt from the new book and a fictionalized sequel by YandexGPT.

There will also be additional features in Yandex services: for example, during a cab ride in the Yandex Go app you can listen to or read a fragment of the book, and in Yandex Maps you can find out where the iconic locations of the trilogy’s books – such as the Sansara ride from KGBT+ – are located. The Plus City mobile game will feature a new memorable character and quests related to the novel.

The novel continues a dialog that included the novels Transhumanism Inc. and KGBT+. The audio version was voiced by announcer and famous actor Maxim Sukhanov. One of the excerpts was read by Galina Yuzefovich especially for the service. Part of the text was recorded using voice synthesis technology developed by Bookmate.

KGBT+, the writer’s previous novel, was in the top 3 most-read books on Bookmate for six months after its release on the service in December 2022. Pelevin is among the top 15 most-read authors on Bookmate of all time.Earlier it was reported that Plus Studio, the production center of Yandex, acquired an option to screen Pelevin’s trilogy. It could be realized both in the format of a feature-length film and in the format of a TV series, which will be released on Kinopoisk.
