Netflix unveiled the first trailer for The Witcher season 3

Netflix has released the first trailer for season three of The Witcher. The trailer premiered Thursday during a live stream of the Summer Game Fest event. The third season will be available on the streaming platform in two parts: the first will be released on June 29 and the second —July 27.

The series, which debuted in 2019 to positive reviews, is largely based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s bestselling —s fantasy book series, though it includes elements from CD Projekt’s blockbuster RPG franchise.

Before the release of the second season in 2021, Netflix and CD Projekt co-hosted a digital convention called WitcherCon, where they detailed the creation of the series and the games, and held interactive panels with stars like Henry Cavill and game developers.

Cavill recently confirmed that he will be stepping down as Heralt of Rivia after season three ends. He will be replaced by «The Hunger Games» star Liam Hemsworth. Last December, Netlfix also released a four-episode prequel to The Witcher, starring Michelle Yeoh, Sophia Brown and Lawrence O’Fuarein.
