CD Projekt has hinted that Trigger Studios will make another anime based on Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt has hinted at plans for further collaboration with animation company Studio Trigger. The Tokyo-based company created the anime Cyberpunk Edgerunners, which became a Netflix hit and helped boost sales of Cyberpunk 2077.

At an investor presentation on Thursday, CD Projekt chief commercial officer Michal Nowakowski said the company has big plans to expand the franchise after developing a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 —Project Orion.

In particular, a project based on Cyberpunk 2077 is in the early stages of development. If the company is working on another cyberpunk project with Trigger, it may not be a new season of Edgerunners. In an interview with Famitsu last October, Edgerunners producer and the company’s Japan manager Satoru Honma said in an interview that there are no plans to continue the story.
