A new Minecraft movie trailer has been released

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures have released the second trailer for the game movie Minecraft, which will premiere April 2, 2025 internationally and April 4 in the United States.

About the movie

The director is Jared Hess, known for Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre. Starring:

  • Jason Momoa (Aquaman),
  • Jack Black (The Sorcerer’s Apprentice),
  • Emma Myers (Wansday),
  • Danielle Brooks (Lilac Flowers of the Fields),
  • Jennifer Coolidge (White Lotus),
  • Sebastian Eugene Hansen (Just Mercy),

Plot

According to the official synopsis, the story centers around four characters:

  • Garrett “Garbage Man” Garrison (Momoa),
  • Henry (Hansen),
  • Natalie (Myers),
  • Don (Brooks).

They face life’s ordinary problems, but are unexpectedly transported through a mysterious portal to Overworld, a marvelous world made up of cubes where imagination reigns supreme.

To return home, the heroes need to:

  • Learn the rules of the new world.
  • Battle enemies such as piglines and zombies.
  • Go on a magical journey with Steve (Jack Black) – the master of crafting.

In the course of the adventure, the heroes will learn to discover their creative abilities, which will help them not only in Overmere, but also in real life.

Minecraft Theme Parks

Currently with the movie news, it has been revealed that Merlin Entertainments – operator of such locations as Alton Towers, Peppa Pig World, Madame Tussauds and Legoland – has acquired the rights to create Minecraft themed areas.

  • The first attraction in the UK will open in 2026, and the second in the US in 2027.
  • These zones will be incorporated into Merlin’s existing parks, rather than becoming stand-alone parks.
