MSI revealed two 32-inch 4K QD-OLED monitors with improved panel protection

Ahead of CES 2025, MSI has unveiled two 32-inch 4K resolution gaming monitors targeting different categories of users. The MPG 322UR QD-OLED X24 and MAG 321UP QD-OLED X24 models are based on a 5-layer Tandem OLED architecture with EL Gen 3 technology, which improves light efficiency and extends panel life.

MAG 322UR QD-OLED X24 and MAG 321UP QD-OLED X24 are based on a 5-layer Tandem OLED architecture with EL Gen 3 technology, which improves light efficiency and extends panel life.

The two monitors feature DarkArmor Film technology designed to address the typical shortcomings of QD-OLED displays. The special coating removes the purple and reddish hues that typically appear on such screens in ambient light. MSI says the level of «black» color is deeper by about 40 percent, which improves contrast and overall image quality. In addition, the screen’s surface hardness has been increased from 2H to 3H, providing 2.5 times better scratch protection for everyday use.

The MPG 322UR QD-OLED X24 model gets an additional AI Care Sensor that the second version doesn’t have. This chip with its own NPU detects the presence of the user in front of the monitor in real time. If the system detects that there is no one in front of the screen, it automatically adjusts power consumption and activates the panel’s protective mechanisms. This helps reduce the risk of burn-in and extend the life of the display without interfering with gameplay.

MAG 321UP QD-OLED X24 is a more basic version. It uses the same 5-layer Tandem OLED display and DarkArmor Film coating, but lacks AI Care Sensor. It’s a good choice for those who want the key benefits of the new panel without the additional automatic security features.

The 5-layer Tandem OLED design differs from classic single-layer OLED panels in that it utilizes multiple LED layers. This allows for higher brightness and spreads the electrical load over a larger area, reducing wear and tear on individual pixels. This is especially important for OLED displays, as static images can lead to burn-in over time.

The QD-OLED technology combines quantum dots with an OLED matrix to provide a wider color gamut and more accurate color reproduction than WOLED displays. The 32-inch format with 4K resolution gives a density of about 140 pixels per inch, which provides a good balance between workspace and image sharpness for both gaming and work.

MSI has not yet revealed pricing or exact release dates. All we know is that both models will go on sale during 2026, with detailed specs including refresh rates, response times and port selection to be announced closer to launch.
