Lenovo unveils updated ThinkBook business laptops with AMD Ryzen AI 7 H 450

Lenovo has rolled out refreshed versions of its ThinkBook 14+ and ThinkBook 16+ business laptops in China, now powered by the new AMD Ryzen AI 7 H 450 processor designed specifically for AI workloads. Starting configurations come with 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD, priced at 6,999 yuan ($1,008) via JD.com, positioning these machines as affordable AI-focused workstations for developers and professionals.

The heart of this refresh is the Ryzen AI 7 H 450 chip, featuring 8 cores and 16 threads, boosting up to 5.1 GHz, and an integrated neural processing unit (NPU) delivering up to 50 TOPS. Graphics duties are handled by the integrated AMD Radeon 860M GPU built on the RDNA 3.5 architecture. Cooling systems support up to an 80-watt thermal design power (TDP) for the 14-inch model and 83 watts for the 16-inch version, enabling the CPU to sustain peak performance under heavy loads.

Both models come equipped with 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM clocked at 8,533 MT/s and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 TLC SSD, with support for adding a second M.2 2280 drive-doubling storage capacity up to 8TB. Battery life is backed by a sizable 99.9Wh cell paired with a 140W GaN fast charger capable of reaching 60% charge in just 30 minutes when powered off.

The main differentiator lies in their displays. The ThinkBook 14+ sports a 14.5-inch 3K (3072×1920) panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 500 nits brightness. Meanwhile, the ThinkBook 16+ upgrades to a 16-inch 3.2K (3200×2000) screen with a higher 165Hz refresh rate. Both screens cover 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and hold Pantone Validated and Pantone SkinTone Validated certifications, alongside TÜV Rheinland certification for reduced blue light emission.

Lenovo retains a premium feel with a full metal chassis (A, C, D panels) that allows the lid to open 180 degrees. The laptops feature a ForcePad touchpad with haptic feedback, a keyboard with 1.5mm key travel, and an IR camera with a physical privacy shutter. Connectivity options include two USB4 ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, HDMI 2.1 FRL, gigabit Ethernet, an SD card reader, and a TGX dock port supporting external GPU connections. Wireless capabilities come courtesy of Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

The machines ship with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed and Lenovo’s proprietary utilities to manage AI features. A global launch is expected between March and April 2026. This ThinkBook update sharpens Lenovo’s edge in the AI-accelerated business laptop segment, competing directly with Dell Latitude models running Intel Core Ultra chips and HP EliteBooks equipped with Snapdragon X Elite processors.
