Gamescom 2025: Asus unveils world’s fastest OLED gaming monitor

Asus announced its new flagship ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W gaming monitor at Gamescom 2025. The device aims to set a new standard in the cyber sports display segment by offering a dual-mode system: 540Hz at QHD resolution and up to 720Hz at 720p. No OLED monitor has previously achieved such values, putting Asus ahead of competitors using TN panels for similar refresh rates.
ThePG27AQWP-W features a 26.5-inch OLED matrix with 2560 × 1440 resolution and tandem OLED technology. According to Asus, the new panel offers 15% higher pixel brightness, 25% higher color volume, and 60% longer lifespan than previous WOLED monitors. It also features TrueBlack Glossy coating that improves contrast and color saturation, reducing glare in bright rooms. The monitor offers a 0.03ms response time, VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black certification and 99.5% DCI-P3 color space coverage, making it suitable for both cyber sports and creative tasks.

The design also sets the new product apart from standard black monitors, with Asus using a silver stand and translucent back panel. Interfaces include DisplayPort 2.1a with full 80Gbps bandwidth, HDMI 2.1, and a tripod mount. The built-in OLED Care Pro package includes Neo Proximity Sensor, which reduces screen brightness when the user steps away, helping to prevent burn-in. Asus also retains a three-year warranty against OLED panel burn-in.
Besides the flagship, the company introduced the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQWMG. This 26.5-inch QHD model supports 280Hz and features the same tandem OLED panel, glossy finish and burn-in protection. It also gets DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC compression and a more compact stand.

The XG27AQDMG Gen 2, an updated version of last year’s XG27AQDMG, has been added to the range. It retains the core features of the 240Hz WOLED monitor, but now comes with TrueBlack Glossy coating, a proximity sensor, and a more compact stand.
Asus is positioning the PG27AQWP-W as the world’s fastest OLED gaming monitor. No price or release date has been revealed yet, but specs point to a premium level.
