Fujitsu set a world record with a laptop weighing only 634 grams

Fujitsu has once again entered the Book of Records with its ultra-light UX-K3 notebook weighing just 634 grams. The model shares the title of the world’s lightest laptop with the 2022 Fujitsu Lifebook WU-X/G2 and the 2024 Dynabook Lifebook WU5/J3 – all three devices are made in Japan and weigh the same.
The UX-K3 features a combination of materials: the top panel is made of carbon fiber, while the keyboard and base bodies are made of magnesium-lithium alloy. Thanks to this, the notebook remains as light as possible, but at the same time resistant to bending during everyday use. The weight of the power adapter has also been reduced to just 151 grams, nearly half the weight of the previous version.
The Fujitsu UX-K3 is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 7 255U processor with 12 cores and 14 threads, integrated Intel Graphics and an integrated AI engine with 12 TOPS performance. There’s 16GB of RAM and 512GB SSD as part of the storage.
The 14-inch display with WUXGA (1920×1200) resolution, matte finish, and 16:10 aspect ratio offers a larger workspace and around 400 nits of brightness with support for sRGB color gamut and IPS technology for high-quality color reproduction from all angles.
The device features the latest Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 wireless modules, as well as a variety of ports: USB Type-C, USB Type-A, HDMI, microSD, and a Gigabit LAN port. For security, there’s a Windows Hello-enabled fingerprint scanner and a protective webcam shutter.
The battery provides up to 7 hours of video playback and up to 18 hours of standby time. The laptop costs about 280,280 yen (about $1,863), underscoring its focus on mobile users willing to pay for portability.
