iFixit experts criticized the MacBook Pro on M5 in a repairability assessment
The iFixit team disassembled the latest MacBook Pro with the M5 chip to determine its repairability. The laptop was found to be better than the previous model, but it wasn’t a sensation — it’s still a long way from the iPhone Air.

The main difficulty in the repair is replacing the battery, which requires disassembling nearly half of the device’s parts. In addition, access to most of the key elements is difficult due to the need to remove the motherboard, and the screen lock is blocked by the antenna bracket.

The new MacBook Pro does have some positive aspects. For example, the availability of official instructions since the start of sales makes disassembly easier and safer. In particular, the manufacturer recommends disconnecting the battery management connector to avoid short circuits. In addition, you no longer need to unscrew the trackpad when replacing the battery.
