Starfield has delivered two of the best sales weeks ever for the Xbox Series X/S

Sales of the Xbox Series X/S hit a new one-week high for 2023, coinciding with the early access release of Starfield. In the seven days ending Sept. 2, sales of Microsoft’s consoles were up 76 percent from the previous week, according to data from research firm GfK published on GamesIndustry.biz.

Bethesda’s sci-fi role-playing game was released Sept. 6 for Xbox Series X/S, PC via Windows and Steam, and Game Pass, but players who pre-ordered the Premium Edition or Constellation Edition were able to start playing five days early.

In addition, Microsoft launched the new Series S 1TB model on Sept. 1, which accounted for 24% of Xbox Series console sales for that week. The following week, ending Sept. 9, was also the second-highest sales week of the year for Xbox Series X/S in the U.K., according to GfK.
