Disney CEO Bob Iger’s deputies are pushing Disney CEO Bob Iger to consider an acquisition of Electronic Arts. That’s according to a new Bloomberg piece on the current state of affairs at Disney, which claims that top executives want Iger to explore the possibility of transforming the company from a games licensee into a gaming giant with major capabilities.

A new report from Disney’s CEO Bob Iger has said that he is pushing Electronic Arts to acquire Electronic Arts.

The Disney boss has reportedly not spoken out about the prospect of acquiring the games publisher, however. Iger, who is in his second stint as Disney chief executive, oversaw acquisitions of Pixar, Marvel Entertainment, Lucasfilm and 21st Century Fox during his first reign.

Iger’s tenure as Disney’s chief executive has been marked by the fact that the company is now in the midst of an acquisition spree.

In addition to working on various «Star Wars games» including the Star Wars Jedi Respawn series, EA last year announced a deal to create «several new games» based on Marvel products, including Iron Man and Black Panther games.
