Full production of Haval M6 launched in Russia

The crossover is now assembled with painting and welding at the modernized plant in Kaluga.
Full assembly production of the Haval M6 crossover has started in Russia – with all key stages including welding and body painting. Production is set up at the former PSMA Rus plant in the Kaluga region. Previously, the M6 was assembled there only using the technology of “screwdriver” assembly, but after five months, the company switched to a full cycle.
The plant has been modernized to produce the Haval M6
About 2,800 m² of the welding shop has been reorganized to run the full cycle for the M6 model. More than 50% of the equipment has been modernized, including 15 industrial robots, more than 40 welding tongs and about 30 new welding conductors. Two heavy-duty robots were installed, each capable of lifting up to 700 kg.
The paint shop has also undergone a major upgrade. The number of anodes in the cataphoresis baths was almost doubled, and a new waxing chamber was installed for anti-corrosion treatment of internal cavities. The suppliers of materials – paint, primer, varnish and sealants – have also been replaced.
Conveyors were reconfigured, including the “wedding” station (docking the body to the engine and chassis), the rear beam assembly line, and the manipulators. New quality control standards have been implemented throughout the production facility.

Technical specifications and price
Haval M6 is powered by a 1.5-liter 143 hp (202 N-m) petrol turbo engine, front-wheel drive and a choice of two transmissions: a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch robot.
This is the brand’s second most expensive crossover after the Jolion. The 2024 M6 starts at 1,979,000 rubles, while the 2025 version starts at 1,999,000 rubles.
Haval’s production in Russia is scaling up
According to industry data, Haval earns about $4,000 to $5,000 per vehicle assembled in Russia, which is about 20-25% of the retail price. In addition to the Kaluga site, production is also handled by the Tula plant of HAVAL Motor Manufacturing Rus.
