Suzuki showed a concept of affordable electric car Vision e-Sky – a future hit among “kei-cars”

Suzuki has unveiled its vision of a compact electric future, the Vision e-Sky concept, which will debut at the Japan Mobility Show 2025. Despite its concept status, it’s not just a design experiment, but a nearly finished version of a new affordable electric vehicle aimed at Japan’s popular ultra-compact kei-car segment.
The electric car is designed to meet the strict standards for such cars: it measures just 3,395mm long, 1,475mm wide and 1,625mm high. That’s even shorter than a modern MINI Cooper. To make the most of the limited space, the engineers have opted for a so-called “tall boy” design – a tall and square body that provides a spacious interior with minimal dimensions.

The Vision e-Sky’s exterior looks modern and concise. The front end is all-new for Suzuki, with pixelated headlights, C-shaped LED DRLs and a closed panel instead of the traditional grille. Recessed door handles, widened wheel arches and new rims are noticeable on the sides. The roof is slightly narrower towards the rear, which adds dynamics, while the rear optics continue the C-shaped light motif and are complemented by a spoiler.

The interior of the concept is almost ready for production: two-tone trim, two large screens – the instrument panel and the multimedia display (about 12 inches each). A three-spoke square steering wheel provides a good view of the panel, and the physical buttons have been almost entirely replaced by touchscreen controls.

The Vision e-Sky will have a range of up to 270 kilometers on a single charge. According to insiders, the electric car will get a compact battery with a capacity of 20 to 25 kWh, which is enough for city driving, which is what the car is designed for. The small battery also helps keep the cost affordable, which is critical for budget electric cars.
Suzuki has already confirmed that a production version of the Vision e-Sky will be released in 2026, first in the Japanese market.
