New Geely Atlas revealed before premiere: complete redesign and modern interior

Just a day after the first teasers were released, Geely has released official images of the next-generation Atlas crossover, which is scheduled to premiere on April 9, 2025. Now in front of us – a completely redesigned car, which has changed almost everything, from the design of the exterior to the architecture of the interior. The car has changed dramatically, both inside and out.
The exterior sees a complete redesign of the car’s “face”: a revised grille, new lighting and modified bumpers create an up-to-date and more dynamic image. The bodywork has been revealed before the official teasers, thanks to a leak from China’s Ministry of Industry.

The interior attracted the most attention – it was revealed for the first time. A large 15.4-inch horizontally oriented touchscreen display is now mounted in the center of the dashboard, replacing the previous vertical tablet. Changes to the media system entailed a complete redesign of the front of the interior: the air ducts have been changed, the center tunnel has been modified, and the shape and design of the console has been changed. Earlier two slots for wireless charging of smartphones were offered, now there is only one. There are even fewer of the classic keys, with the controls concentrated mainly on the screen.
In addition, the door panels have been modernized: the armrests have a smoother profile, decorative wood inlays and integrated background lighting have been added. All of this gives the interior a modern and premium look, enhancing the visual and tactile experience.

On the technical side, only one engine has been confirmed so far, a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline unit that develops 218 horsepower. It is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch robotized transmission used in the front-wheel drive version. Previously, the Atlas was also offered with a 1.5 Turbo (181 hp), but there is no information about its return to the current lineup.
The updated Atlas is already available for order on the Russian market. The version with a 2.0-liter engine with 200 hp is priced from 3.52 to 4.02 million rubles. Front-wheel-drive versions are equipped with a seven-speed DCT, while all-wheel-drive versions are equipped with a traditional eight-speed hydromechanical automatic.
Geely is clearly aiming to strengthen its position in the midsize SUV segment by emphasizing design, technology and high-end performance. According to preliminary information, at the April premiere, the company may introduce additional configurations, including hybrid versions, rumors of which have been circulating in the Chinese media for some time.
