Mitsubishi has unveiled an improved version of its affordable minivan — the Minicab-MiEV. The new model gets a modern powertrain and a higher capacity battery than the previous version.
Mitsubishi has introduced an improved version of its affordable minivan, the Minicab-MiEV.
The new kei-car has a monocoque design utilizing next-generation electric components, including an electric motor with 42 horsepower and 195 Nm of torque. The battery capacity has been increased to 20 kWh, providing a range of about 180 kilometers. This is 35% more than the previous model. The car can be fully charged from the 200 V AC mains in 7.5 hours. A quick charge can be done in 42 minutes to get 80% of the charge.

The new electric motor and inverter are combined to reduce noise levels, allowing drivers to use the car at any time of day without disturbing others. The new car is equipped with parktronic, emergency automatic braking, lane control, automatic high beam on/off, SRS airbags, three-point seatbelts and advanced shock absorbers.
The main feature of this model is its roominess. Despite being only 3.4 meters long, the Minicab-MiEV has enough space to store 14 boxes measuring 450x450x600 millimeters. The driver can also give up space in the back row by installing additional passenger seats.
The price of this van starts at $16,300 (1.5 million rubles), and the Minic-MiEV will be available for purchase starting December 21.
