Mercedes-Benz introduces the updated Active Parking Assist system
By ForGeeks Mercedes-Benz has unveiled an enhanced version of its Active Parking Assist system, which is now available in a wide range of the brand’s models.
Enhanced speed and improved functionality
The new version of Active Parking Assist now operates at double the speed of up to 4 km/h, twice as fast as the previous model. This significantly reduces the time it takes to maneuver in tight spaces.
The parking process can be initiated by simply pressing a button on the vehicle’s display screen. During automatic parking, the system mutes the PARKTRONIC beeps to minimize distractions for the driver. A status bar also appears on the screen to show the current parking progress.

Wide compatibility and parking space search
This advanced parking technology is now standard in a number of Mercedes-Benz models, including the E-Class, S-Class, EQS, EQS SUV, EQE, EQE SUV and all Maybach versions of these models equipped with the parking package and rearview camera. The system actively searches for suitable parking spaces at speeds of up to 35 km/h and displays them on the screen with a blue icon «P». It is able to find parking spaces even if there is only 50 centimeters of space between the vehicles on both sides.

Security and protection against unexpected threats
The advanced Active Parking Assist system is also safety-oriented. When reversing, the system constantly monitors the space around the vehicle to detect intersecting vehicles, bicyclists or pedestrians. If a potential threat is detected, the system immediately provides a visual and audible warning. If the driver fails to react, the vehicle activates the brakes to prevent a potential accident.
