The cars brought in by Mazda Motor Rus are likely to be more expensive than those supplied by dealers through parallel channels from the same factories. However, deliveries from the former distributor will be subject to VAT and full customs clearance, which opens up the possibility of leasing Mazda cars – a key advantage for corporate customers.

On May 30, Maxim Kadakov, editor-in-chief of Za Rulem magazine, denied rumors about Toyota’s return to the Russian market, explaining that it is only a matter of parallel imports with payment of commercial scrappage duty and a two-year dealer warranty not confirmed by the manufacturer.
