Geely Galaxy V900 set a Guinness World Record by accommodating 42 people in the cabin
The Geely Galaxy V900 minivan has become the most spacious model in its class: 42 dancers were able to sit in the cabin of the car. The record was recorded on October 27, but the company announced the achievement only recently – already at the stage of preparing the model for market launch.
The Geely Galaxy V900 debuted at the Guangzhou Auto Show and immediately caught the public’s attention. According to CarNewsChina, the 42 figure looks notable, although there are bigger records in other segments. The 2015 Toyota RAV4, for example, accommodated 41 people and the Volkswagen Campervan accommodated 50.
The updated LEVC L380 and model dimensions
The Geely Galaxy V900 is a redesigned version of the Geely Galaxy LEVC L380 minivan, which was previously sold as an electric car under the LEVC brand of the Geely Group. The dimensions of the new model are 5360 × 1998 × 1940 mm with a wheelbase of 3200 mm. Compared to the electric version, the car is 44 mm longer and the base has increased by 15 mm.
The exterior of the hybrid version has received a number of changes. The front end has been redesigned: instead of a closed panel, there’s a chrome grille with horizontal inserts, and the bumper has been changed. Lidar has been placed above the windshield, and the Geely logo is not on the body.
Hybrid setup and range
The model is equipped with a sequential hybrid including a 1.5 liter gasoline turbo engine with 163 hp. It works in generator mode and charges the traction battery. Range on electric power depending on the version is 172, 195 and 202 km. The manufacturer promises to disclose more detailed technical specifications later.
It was previously reported that Zeekr, part of the same Geely group, is preparing to release a model that could compete with the Lixiang L8.
