XPeng Auto Group has unveiled the XPeng Aeroht flying car

Company XPeng, has unveiled the latest version of the world’s first all-electric flying car with vertical takeoff and landing. The prototype successfully survived its maiden flight and overcame several tests to the failure of one of its motors.

The prototype is now in its first flight.

XPeng Aeroht is completely different from its previous version. Now indeed the car is able to both drive on roads and take off into the air. The visual impression is that a giant quadrocopter has been attached to the roof of the car.

“We took the working principle of automobiles, creatively reworked it and applied it to a flying system to simplify learning to fly,” said XPeng Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng.

The vehicle has been given a multi-motor configuration and advanced design to improve safety, and flight reliability.

In driving mode, it is comparable to any conventional car in terms of functionality and size. In flight mode, the flying car is controlled by the steering wheel and the right gear lever. In accordance with the laws and regulations of low-altitude airspace, the vehicle can take off and land vertically and navigate traffic congestion, obstacles and rivers.

Technical specifications have not yet been disclosed, nor have plans for the release date and estimated cost of the commercial version.
