WhatsApp will soon start deleting inactive accounts

WhatsApp is launching a program to remove inactive user accounts. The goal of the program — to improve account management and ensure the security of the service. Checking accounts for activity will begin, focusing on those who haven’t logged into the app since late September last year. Owners of inactive accounts will have four months to regain activity. If a user doesn’t log into the app within that time, their account will be permanently deleted.

Accounts are considered inactive if they have not been accessed over the internet from mobile devices or computers. The cleanup process will not only delete the accounts, but also all associated data. Developers urge users to keep up with updates and stay active on WhatsApp to avoid losing access to the account.
