TikTok for Artists platform to support artists launched

TikTok has officially unveiled TikTok for Artists, a new analytics tool designed to help musicians and their teams grow their careers and better connect with audiences on the platform. The launch comes two months after the service began testing in select countries.
TikTok for Artists provides access to detailed statistics on the popularity of an artist’s songs and publications. Among the metrics available are the number of views, posts and interactions with content, as well as subscriber information including age, language and gender.

Besides analytics, the service offers step-by-step guides on how to use TikTok’s features, as well as additional support and training resources for artists.

Coinciding with the platform’s launch, TikTok unveiled «Pre-Release», a tool that allows artists to promote future releases. With it, fans will be able to pre-save albums to their libraries on Spotify or Apple Music for instant access to listen after release.
With TikTok playing an important role in shaping music trends and popularizing tracks, launching TikTok for Artists seems like a logical step. The platform could become an important promotional channel for both emerging and established artists.
Interestingly, the launch of TikTok for Artists comes eight months after the closure of the TikTok Music service, which was being tested in several countries. At the time, ByteDance said it had decided to focus on developing TikTok as a music promotion tool rather than a competitor to Spotify and Apple Music.
The TikTok for Artists platform is already available in 30 countries, including the US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Japan, Australia, South Korea, Brazil and others. TikTok plans to expand the launch geography in the near future.
