Microsoft will add a separate search bar to the Edge browser

Microsoft is working on a new UI element for the browser: Microsoft Edge will allow an additional search bar to be placed next to the regular address bar. The new feature will make it faster to search for something using the default search engine.

By the way, many modern browsers allow you to separate the address and search bar. Until recently, Microsoft Edge only had one large field that works as both the address bar and the search bar. Now users can use Alt + Enter to search in a new tab or Shift + Enter to launch a new window. Speaking of which, Microsoft is going to change that and let users choose whether they want to keep one address bar or add another just for search.
The company is currently A/B testing the new search bar in Microsoft Edge Canary, which means you can access it right now, but only some insiders can get it for now. But users are being forced to enable the new feature using a modified shortcut.
So far, it’s not a big deal.
