Apple has released iPadOS 18.0.1 for M4 after fixing issues with the previous version

Apple has released an update iPadOS 18.0.1 for iPad Pro M4, making iPadOS 18 available for these models for the first time after the original version was removed from distribution. After the initial release of iPadOS 18 a small number of users of the M4 iPad Pro model had serious problems – the devices stopped working after installation. The update is now available for installation again.

The iPadOS 18.0.1 update can be downloaded over the air via Settings > Basic > Software Update. It’s available for all iPad models that support iPadOS 18.

iPadOS 18.0.1 now fixes this issue and is safe to install on M4 iPad Pro devices. The update also includes fixes that are available on all iPads:
- Fixed a bug that could cause the Messages app to close unexpectedly when replying to a message with a generic Apple Watch face.
- Fixed an issue with memory allocation that could affect performance on some iPad models.
iPadOS 18 also adds new home screen customization options, an updated Control Center, and new features in most apps, including Photo, Messaging, Safari, Calculator and Notes.
