ChatGPT for macOS is now available for free

The OpenAI ChatGPT app for macOS is now available as a free download. However, it is only available for macOS 14+ devices with Apple Silicon (M1 or higher).

Users can invoke ChatGPT from any screen on their device by pressing Option + Space. The app’s user interface is similar to ChatGPT in a browser and supports multimodal search options. You can use plain text and voice input along with uploading images and files.

OpenAI also confirmed that a ChatGPT app for Windows will be available later this year.
