PS5 Games with Better Graphics: Part 2

PS5 Games with Better Graphics: Part 2

The graphical and technical breakthroughs in the PS5 compared to the PlayStation 4 are astounding. Resolution is higher, and new technologies like ray tracing are becoming available and used in more and more games. Many new games have been released in recent years, as well as remakes and updated versions of old ones. Here is part 2 of our list of the PS5 games with the best graphics.

The games on this list are impressive not only in looks, but also in providing a fun experience. Beautiful graphics don’t make a game fun, but it turns out that beautiful games on the PS5 are also fun to play. Here’s a list of PS5 games with great graphics.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart — is «a Pixar game movie» — there’s no better way to describe it. The game doesn’t try to be like the real world, but the artwork is so detailed that it’s impossible not to marvel at the views. The fur on Ratchet, the reflections on Clank, the alien worlds — it’s all as colorful and evocative as in movies like WALL-E or Supergirl.

The game’s artwork is so detailed that you can’t help but admire it.

Combine all of this with smooth animation, the ability to lower the frame rate but add ray tracing — and you suddenly see a world you could only dream of as a child. That’s exactly how my imagination was conjuring up the picture when I played the first installments of Ratchet on the PS2.

Demon’s Souls

The original Demon’s Souls — was a game that desperately needed a remake. Not only because it was shoehorned for the PS3, but also because that game’s graphical capabilities didn’t match the team’s artistic goals.

The original Demon’s Souls’ is a game that desperately needed a remake.

In Demon’s Souls: Remake, we see what the game really should have been. Whereas the original was muddy and bland, the remake is crisp, appealing, and drenched in atmosphere. In the Demon’s Souls remake, more than any other game, the entire atmosphere, mood, and tone of the game is enhanced by a graphical upgrade. It was the launch game for the PS5, and it looks better than many games released more than a year later.

So far, it’s a great game.

Death Stranding: Director’s Edition

Death Stranding: Director’s Edition is in the same position as Ghost of Tsushima. Both games already pushed the PS4 to its limits, and only the PS5 version managed to achieve even more visual beauty. The emphasis on nature is also similar.

Death Stranding: The Director’s Cut features a smaller variety of landscapes, but every mossy rock, stream, cliff, or patch of dirt looks like it was photographed and put into the game. The lighting here, I’m not afraid of that tautology, shines, creating a depth of shadows and reflections everywhere you’d expect. In a game where you walk from place to place almost all the time, you won’t mind traveling when every step is so beautiful.

The game is a beautiful experience.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade

Let’s wrap up our selection of PS4 games getting new versions for the PS5 with one of the best RPGs for the PS4. Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade actually had some features to improve on the base game.

Of course, character models, particles, effects and most environments were already top notch, but there were some glaring flaws. The PS5 didn’t have to cut corners, and that’s noticeable. Not only have the minor flaws been addressed, but the game has gotten new lighting effects and up to 4K resolution. Cloud’s hair has never looked so good.

Gran Turismo 7

Racing games have always had a higher level of graphics than most other genres. Gran Turismo 7 hit the PS5 with the most realistic cars and tracks. Every inch of every car is hand-crafted to match its real-world counterpart, and dynamic track lighting shimmers on the pavement just like in the real world.

All the cars are hand-crafted to look exactly like their real-world counterparts.

In addition, the effects of entering a dark tunnel and exiting into sunlight are exactly like the real thing. Gran Turismo 7 offers ray tracing, but not during gameplay, which is frustrating. But it can be used to take screenshots of such high quality that your friends will think you own a multi-million-dollar race car… or, like Peter Parker, catch a good shot of you climbing a pole.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is in the same category as Ratchet and Clank in that it doesn’t strive for a perfect recreation of our world, but once again shows beauty in stylization.

Characters have realistic features, but with slight exaggerations and smoothed features. You won’t see super realistic detail in Kena: Bridge of Spirits, but your eyes will twinkle with delight. Despite the color palette not being oversaturated, the world is expressive and beautiful.

The world is beautiful.
