M.Video-Eldorado sent 387 tons of appliances for recycling in Q1 2025

M.Video-Eldorado sent 387,510 kilograms of appliances for recycling in the first quarter of 2025. That volume is comparable to the weight of nearly 775,000 of the new iPhone 16 Pro Max. If they were lined up in a single line, it would stretch for dozens of kilometers. Instead of ending up in landfills, the tech was given a second life by being broken down into valuable materials, components and parts to make new products.
Compared to the first quarter of last year, the volume of recycled equipment increased by 22%. A significant contribution to this result was made by the Ecotaxi service, which allows us to recycle old equipment without having to buy new ones. Ecotaxi now operates in 44 cities and two regions of Russia. Previously, the service was available only in 18 cities and two regions – the largest expansion since the program was launched in 2022.

Ecotaxi initially operated in Moscow, Moscow region, St. Petersburg, Leningrad region, Vladimir, Volgograd, Volzhskiy, Voronezh, Yekaterinburg, Kaluga, Krasnodar, Lipetsk, Maykop, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Perm, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, Stavropol and Tyumen.
Now 26 new cities have been added: Astrakhan, Barnaul, Veliky Novgorod, Vologda, Ivanovo, Irkutsk, Kazan, Kemerovo, Kostroma, Krasnoyarsk, Kursk, Murmansk, Novokuznetsk, Omsk, Pskov, Saransk, Saratov, Smolensk, Sochi, Tambov, Tula, Ulyanovsk, Ufa, Cheboksary, Chelyabinsk, Ufa and Yaroslavl.
From February 2025, the list of equipment available for removal has been expanded. Now you can use Ecotaxi to dispose of not only refrigerators and washing machines, but also ovens, cooktops, hoods, TVs, water heaters, microwave ovens, computers, printers and small household appliances.
More than just refrigerators and washing machines, you can also dispose of ovens, cooktops, hoods, TVs, water heaters, microwave ovens, computers, printers and small household appliances.
