MWC 2025: interesting and unusual gadgets of the exhibition

The MWC tech show annually surprises viewers not only with the variety of gadgets, but also with the number of unusual and maybe even a little strange new products. This year was no exception either. For example, uCloudlink decided that pets need their own personal smartphone, and Samsung surprised everyone with a foldable console.
But we’ll talk about all of that in detail and in order. So we’re ready to bring you our selection of the most unusual and interesting gadgets that showed up at MWC 2025.
Smartphone for pets – PetPhone

If you’ve ever wondered about the plight of your pets – you have a smartphone and they don’t – congratulations. Hong Kong-based company uCloudlink has created a pet gadget just for you.
The company specializes in wireless communications, but here they’ve apparently decided to take it a step further. Like a regular phone, the PetPhone will provide two-way communication between pet and owner. As with many modern devices, the phone has AI that can initiate a call to the owner based on the sounds and movements of the dog or cat.
The smartphone will also be able to track your pet’s geolocation and health with the same AI. It sounds like a useful feature, but only in practice will you know whether you need it or not.
Xiaomi 15 with removable camera lenses

A truly one of the most interesting prototypes that were unveiled at MWC 2025 was Xiaomi’s phone with detachable lenses. This design is sure to appeal to both mobile enthusiasts and those who do photography/shooting professionally.
Thanks to this concept, the smartphone will look neater and slimmer as there is no need to make a huge and massive camera unit right on it. Now all you have to do is buy interchangeable lenses according to your preferences and use them only when you really need them.
The Xiaomi Modular Optical System uses a 100-megapixel Light Fusion X Type 4/3 sensor with a 35mm f/1.4 lens and autofocus. Xiaomi LaserLink optical communication technology (up to 10Gbps) is used for data transmission. This module is powered directly from the smartphone, and the developers claim that the camera shoots well even in low-light conditions.
Samsung Flex Gaming

Foldable devices are slowly taking over the market. There are now already smartphones whose displays fold three times, and there are rumors of tablets and laptops that will have a foldable display. And now at the show, Samsung surprised everyone with a foldable console.
The Flex Gaming got a 7.2-inch foldable display. There’s speculation that the Flex Gaming will apparently become a handheld device. That’s handy for those who’d like to play their favorite games but can’t take something large, like a Steam Deck, on the road. No further details about the console have been revealed, and it’s not even clear whether or not it’ll ever make it to market.

Samsung’sOLED case

There aren’t many details about another Samsung concept that the company unveiled at MWC 2025. The only thing we do know is that the foldable OLED display was presented in a case, as it hasn’t been used in any of the devices yet. Also, past that, the Flexible Briefcase has an 18.1-inch diagonal at a resolution of 2,000×3,664 with a pixel density of 184 ppi. The screen is designed with On-Cell Film (OCF) technology, which increases brightness and reduces power consumption.
Infinix s solar-powered smartphone

The idea of using a solar panel in devices is not new. Not only is it more environmentally friendly, but it also allows you to extend the runtime of your smartphone without classic charging from electricity. Phones that used this kind of technology before looked like massive and not particularly comfortable devices. Infinix has redesigned the concept by making its smartphone more miniaturized.
SolarEnergy-Reserving, the technology used in the smartphone, is based on perovskite solar cells and AI algorithms. All of this together allows it to store energy from sunlight and artificial light. The development is definitely interesting and useful, and how it will prove itself in practice will only be tested in practice.
Lenovo ThinkBook 3D

Lenovo isn’t giving up, and that’s why it unveiled the ThinkBook 3D, a laptop with a 3D display, at MWC 2025. The technology allows you to see three-dimensional images without the need for 3D glasses. The company has also developed a special AI ring for controlling in space.
