It’s been 93 years since Albert Einstein opened IFA, which was the sixth edition of the European trade show. If you do the math, it’s the 99th year the event has been held, and it’s come a long way since then.
The event is now in its 99th year.
In the first week of September, from Friday 1 to Tuesday 5, many of the biggest manufacturers of consumer electronics — LG, Samsung, Hisense, TCL, Sennheiser and others — will once again gather at the Messe Berlin exhibition center to showcase the latest innovations. Brands that are not officially affiliated with IFA are using this period to present new products, so there will be plenty of events.

What to expect at IFA 2023?
This year’s IFA continues the world’s return to «normalcy» after the devastating impact of the global COVID pandemic. The 2023 show will feature 26 full halls of exhibitors, welcoming 2,059 brands from 48 countries and 180,000 visitors from 144 nations.
The 2023 edition of the show is the first of its kind in the world.
Most of the exhibits and events are back, but there are also innovations that make the 2023 show special, including not only more brands and exhibit booths, but also three Tesla cars, a demonstration of the Starlink satellite and the Berlin Tech Week — a city-wide project that saw IFA break out of the Messe walls and into the «streets» of the German capital.

For the first time at IFA, there is a «Sustainability Village» with a «Mend and Repair Workshop» where users can take most electronic goods to get a little touch-up on their appearance.
This year’s IFA Next is again a welcome opportunity for startups to showcase ideas in the Messe pavilions. There’s even a Robot House for those obsessed with cutting-edge technology. All the fun stuff aside, here are the main brands exhibiting at IFA 2023.

The world’s thinnest and lightest foldable phone will take center stage at the company’s key IFA 2023 «Unfold Tomorrow» presentation on September 1, so hopefully we’ll get pricing and availability information then. Perhaps it will be possible to see a second, yet-to-be-announced foldable phone…

Huawei was one of the brands to announce new smartphones at IFA last year, unveiling the Nova 10 family, and rumor has it that it may use the German show to announce the first 5G-enabled cell phones after the U.S. veto.
