Computex: what to expect from Nvidia

Computex, one of the biggest shows of the year for notebook and PC manufacturers, is getting underway. A number of companies will make big announcements, but the most anticipated event of the week will be Nvidia’s keynote at Computex.

The keynote speaker will be Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang, who a few days ago added $7 billion to his net worth after the company’s big first quarter earnings report.

Nvidia hasn’t publicly revealed much information about the topics it will cover at Computex. But what is known is that the talk will include «cutting-edge developments in accelerated computing and artificial intelligence». Nvidia’s technology helps create popular generative AI products such as ChatGPT and Bard. This year’s explosion of chatbots has led to unprecedented growth for the company, including what some are calling the company’s all-time record one-day increase in value.

There have also been rumors that we may see the announcement of new graphics cards at Computex. That seems less likely since the RTX 4060 family of GPUs hit store shelves earlier this week.

After the keynote, Nvidia’s VP of Corporate Marketing and Developer Programs Greg Estes will also present «Racing Towards the Industrial Metaverse» in which he will discuss «how NVIDIA and its partners are using Omniverse, generative AI and accelerated computing to create an exciting new era of 3D workflow». This will take place on Tuesday, May 30, at 09:30 a.m. MSC.
