7 iPhone 17 Pro features that make it worth buying

On September 9, Apple unveiled new iPhone models to the world. We were shown the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max in three colors, including the unusual and brand new Space Orange. The news regarding the new Pro model doesn’t end there. In addition to the updated design, the model also received the biggest price tag in Apple’s smartphone history – $2,000 for the 2TB version of the Pro Max.
The new Pro Max model is also getting the biggest price tag in Apple’s smartphone history.
Apple has dramatically redesigned its Pro series phones, creating a huge “plateau” (camera protrusion) on the back, as well as a new all-metal body and even stronger glass on the front and back.
Prices start at $1,099 and $1,199, respectively, which provides 256GB of storage, matching the cost of the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max when they’re released in 2024. But can the price still be justified? So, here are seven iPhone 17 Pro chips worth talking about.
1. Durability and toughness

At the presentation, Apple spent a lot of time talking about how it has improved the durability of its entire lineup, including the iPhone 17 and iPhone Air.
The Pro version features an all-new case made of heat-treated aluminum that wraps around the back panel and includes a raised “plateau” that houses cameras and sensors. This durable 7000 Series aerospace-grade aluminum alloy body is complemented by a new Apple Shield 2 ceramic screen on the front and back of the phone.
Apple claims the ceramic back panel is four times more resistant to cracks and scratches than “the previous generation iPhone’s rear glass panel,” and the front shield is three times more scratch-resistant “compared to the previous generation iPhone.”
2. Power

iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max feature Apple’s new A19 Pro chipset with 6 processor cores and 6 graphics cores, delivering 40% more performance than the iPhone 16 Pro. These phones are able to run artificial intelligence models and costly programs more efficiently. So if you often work in something like this (like a video editor), give it some thought.
3. Performance and cooling

Another feature that makes the iPhone 17 Pro’s amazing performance is the presence of a vaporizer camera — a first on the iPhone.
Apple’s technology uses deionized water sealed into the chamber and laser-welded to the chassis to help dissipate heat away from the A19 Pro’s chipset, cooling components and ensuring consistent performance. In reality, this means longer gaming sessions, the ability to shoot 4K video, and artificial intelligence modeling to suit your preferences. In short, you’ll be able to do everything you need to do without holding a hot potato.
4. The zoom of the main cameras has reached a new level

Apple has improved the zoom capabilities on the iPhone 17 Pro’s main cameras.
Apple’s telephoto lens delivers 8x optical zoom — the largest in iPhone history. This lets you zoom in closer on your subject without losing image quality. And if you want to shoot your subject even closer, the new phones also support 40x digital zoom
5. Battery life

The battery life of the iPhone has been something of a joke over the years, and while Apple has improved efficiency with each generation, it can’t be said that Apple phones — are the best on the market in terms of battery life.
But Apple claims the iPhone 17 Pro Max offers the best battery life in iPhone history, with up to 39 hours of video playback without charging. The iPhone 17 Pro also has an impressive — 33 hours. The company has also improved the charging process: 20 minutes of charging with a powerful adapter (at least 30 watts) can boost battery life by up to 50 percent.
6. Clear video

To get a better idea of the clarity we’re talking about, all you have to do is watch Apple’s presentation on September 9. After all, everything you’ll see was shot on the iPhone 17 Pro.
Apple has packed the Pro series cameras with even more video features, including improved video stabilization, cinema-quality specs, and compatibility with standard workflows. They’re expected to be used for Hollywood productions as well as home movies.
Apple’s Pro Series cameras are now available for both Hollywood productions and home movies.
7. Screen Brightness

The screen has also been updated, with its peak brightness now at 3,000 nits – a significant improvement over the peak brightness of 2,000 nits on the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max.
This means the displays on the 6.3-inch iPhone 17 Pro and 6.9-inch iPhone 17 Pro Max should be even better in bright light (particularly outdoors on sunny days), plus Apple has applied a new anti-reflective coating to further improve the viewing experience.
