IFA 2024: all the best and most interesting. Part 2

It’s September, but that doesn’t stop us from looking forward to some interesting events. One of them is IFA 2024, which will take place before the new iPhones are unveiled. IFA is one of the biggest trade shows of the month, where the world’s tech brands unveil their latest products. Most of them will be available by New Year’s Eve.
From phones and smartwatches to laptops and robot vacuum cleaners, you’ll see everything. We visited IFA to see all these new products in person and pick out the most interesting ones. In this article, we’ll tell you the second part of what we saw at IFA 2024.
Ugreen Uno 6-in-1 USB Hub

Another useful gadget for travel and home use at IFA 2024 — Ugreen’s new Uno USB hub. It’s part of the Uno line of cute emoji screens, and this compact hub provides HDMI, two USB-A, two USB-C and one 100W PD port. All of this in a compact and lightweight package that you can easily slip into your bag.

Hoover HF4 Hydro

One of the perennial problems with vacuum cleaners is that they simply can’t get into the corners of a room the way a soft mop can. Hoover’s HF4 Hydro from Hoover at IFA 2024 solves this problem with a unique diamond-shaped mop head designed to reach into the furthest corners. The HF4 Hydro — is not just a mop. It’s a modular vacuum cleaner: you can vacuum first and then swap the dry mop attachment for the mop.
Ninja Luxe Café Premier
.
The Luxe Café line isn’t new, but it came to the UK after a limited release in the US. There are three models, but we’ve turned our attention to the middle Premier (ES601). Unusually, it can make espresso, filter coffee and cold brew.
It’s not unusual in that it can make espresso, filter coffee and cold brew.

It has lots of shiny chrome, and it’s a pleasure to use. It has a safety net in the form of Barista Assist Technology, which fine-tunes the grind settings in response to sensor feedback and offers recommendations for the next cup.
It’s a nice touch.
The machine also has a Dual Froth System with settings for plant-based milk.
Semi-automatic espresso makers are usually expensive, but this model offers a lot of features for a relatively low price.

LG Self-Driving AI Home Hub
Home assistant robots have been around for a few years now, but LG’s new offering at IFA 2024 is surprisingly compelling.&#nbsp; The Self-Driving AI Home Hub — is exactly what sounds necessary and useful, — a two-wheeled robot that uses artificial intelligence to help around the house.&#nbsp;
It runs on LG’s new Furon AI platform, which uses ChatGPT 4.0 to communicate naturally, even to the most unusual requests. It can also respond like a human, using on-screen expressions and “head” movements. But its main function — it’s a smart home hub with artificial intelligence, with LG offering support for many smart home gadgets and the Matter standard.

A built-in camera helps it move around, but it can also look at an image drawn on a companion tablet and use generative AI to create a story based on it. LG Self-Driving AI Home Hub will be released in the first half of 2025 in South Korea, and then presumably appear in other countries. However, the price has not yet been disclosed.
Candy City Fresco 300
These refrigerators are hard to miss at IFA 2024, as they come in four eye-catching color schemes: Riviera, Forest Green, Cotton White and Powder Pink. Refrigerators and freezers with cool color schemes are usually out of reach unless you can afford to spend hundreds of thousands. But not in this case.

There’s no exact pricing for these models yet, but the City Fresco 300 in standard colors now sells for 499.99 euros in Europe, so we expect these models to be similarly priced. These are connected appliances (via the Hon app) with a frost-free freezer, Circle Fresh technology to keep food juicy for longer, and an adjustable temperature zone for fish and meat.
LG 2024 InstaView Oven
If there’s one kitchen appliance that could really benefit from artificial intelligence, it’s the oven. And LG’s new InstaView model at IFA 2024 makes the most of it.

The center of attention is — a camera built into the oven itself that serves two main purposes. It allows you to monitor cooking via a smartphone app, eliminating the need to constantly open it. This makes cooking more convenient, as well as more efficient.
The centerpiece of the oven is the camera, which serves two purposes.

But what do you do if you don’t know how to prepare a particular dish? InstaView can help in that case, too. So-called “gourmet artificial intelligence” can use the camera to determine what’s cooking and automatically set the cooking time and mode.
Although only 30 recipes are supported, there are 80 different “Auto Cook” modes to choose from. With a 76-liter capacity, a 4.3-inch LCD screen, air frying and sous vide functions, the latest InstaView oven looks to be a complete cooking assistant. However, it’s still unclear how much it will cost, and availability is also yet to be announced.
The InstaView’s price tag is not yet clear.
Qrevo Curv Roborock — a robot vacuum cleaner that can climb stairs
.
With the ability to climb upwards over room transitions up to 40mm high, carpets and other possible obstacles, Roborock’s new Qrevo Curv at IFA 2024 could be an example of a stair-climbing robot vacuum cleaner that’s almost there.
At IFA 2024, Roborock’s new Qrevo Curv could be an example of a stair-climbing robot vacuum cleaner that’s almost there.
Roborock hasn’t claimed that, but judging by how quickly this company — and others — are innovating in this area, it seems like it’s not that far away. SharkNinja also announced a new robot vacuum cleaner with lifting capabilities this week, and other companies are likely not far behind. Whether we need robot vacuum cleaners that climb stairs — a question we don’t know the answer to yet. The Qrevo Curv has a sleeker, curvier dock that can automatically empty the container, clean and fill the rag.

The robot features a completely redesigned multifunction docking station that’s more flexible and compact than other models, a new dual anti-tangle brush system that splits the brush in half, allowing hair to roll off of it, and an impressive 18,500 Pa of suction power.

The proprietary self-lifting feature — AdaptLift Chassis — automatically lifts the robot’s front wheel and self-adjusts its main wheels to raise it by 10mm, allowing it to tackle standard thresholds up to 30mm and double-layer thresholds up to 40mm. As well as making the robot easier to move around the house and not getting stuck, the new mobility means Curv can now clean medium to long pile carpets.

The Qrevo Curv vacuum cleaner features Roborock obstacle avoidance technology with artificial intelligence that uses a built-in camera to avoid household clutter. It goes on sale in Europe this month for €1,499.99, along with the Qrevo Edge model, which offers the same features but has a more traditional black-colored base station look.

Roborock is also launching an ultra-thin vacuum cleaner that’s designed to get under low furniture better. The new navigation system uses dual-light 3D time-of-flight technology, lasers and an RGB camera to navigate and recognize obstacles. The vacuum cleaner works with a multifunctional docking station, has a suction power of 11,000 Pa and will go on sale in Europe later this month at a price of €1,299.99.
