Sonos has reorganized their product development division, cut jobs, and intends to release a “major new product in a new multi-billion dollar category” next year. An updated version of Sonos headphones will be announced in March and will be released in April. These headphones, known by the codename Duke, will be direct competition for Apple’s AirPods Max, Sony and Bose products. They will be available in black and white, with the ability to sync with other Sonos devices and voice control. The recommended price of the product will be between $400 and $500 (from 35,265 rubles to 44,080 rubles).

Sonos is also exploring the possibility of releasing fully wireless headphones similar to Apple’s AirPods. The company plans to use technology from Irish developer RHA Audio, which they acquired two years ago. Sonos is not going to compete with Apple in the technical aspect, but will focus on the ability to fine-tune the sound. In addition, an app called Passport is being developed that will allow Sonos wireless devices to be controlled remotely from a home network. In the second half of 2024, the company plans to release Voice 2.0.

By the end of 2024 or early 2025, Sonos plans to introduce another new product, a set-top box codenamed Pinewood. This device will not only stream images to your TV, but will also be the centerpiece for all Sonos devices in the home. The set-top box will have its own Android-based operating system, support Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision and spatial sound on a home theater system. The company is in talks with popular video platforms such as Netflix and is also considering launching its own video service. The set-top box will be controlled via both a voice interface and an app.
Sonos also plans to release updated components for home theater systems, including the Lotus subwoofer, which will be Wi-Fi 6 compatible and able to sync with your TV. A second-generation Roam portable speaker, known by the codename Sidecar, with a touch-sensitive volume control, is expected to be released in mid-2024. It also plans to release a business version of the Era 100 speaker with an Ethernet port for use in stores and restaurants. The company is also developing the Lasso sound bar, which will be positioned above the Arc model and will cost $1,200 (105,800 rubles) due to the use of Mayht Holding technology, which was acquired by Sonos. The company will also release a Premier amplifier priced between $3,000 and $4,000 ($262,500 to $352,670), and will be preceded by new 8-inch-diameter in-ceiling speakers.
