HiFi streaming service Sound has released an interactive retrospective on the greatest music albums from the 1960s through the 2000s. What was Kanye West criticized for in the noughties? How did gangsta rap’s crude lyrics outrage society in the eighties? And why did Thom Yorke almost die while starring in a music video? The answers to these and other interesting questions were found by the team of HiFi Streaming Sound, launching scaleproject about the music of the last 50 years.

The 50 Great Albums of Today Project is an online tour of one of the music industry’s most colorful eras. The interactive compilation will remind you what the iconic albums that became the foundation for modern music sound like.

The project is organized into five parts, from the sixties to the noughties. You can not only listen to the albums, but also learn curious facts about the time of their creation. For example, the Sixties were a period of avant-garde jazz, bright soul and roaring rock’n’roll – they gave the world The Doors and Led Zeppelin. The Eighties brought with them street rap, dusky rock and revealed new facets of pop music. Back then, the albumsDesintegration, Straight Outta Compton and Daydream Nation were the brightest. Zero seems to have ended not so long ago, but many albums from that period have already achieved cult status: My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Discovery, Back To Black. The project’s albums are available in HiFi-quality for users with a SberPrime subscription – you can listen to them at any time and in any quantity.
