Kinopoisk creates subtitles in consultation with members of the hearing-impaired community and also engages contractors who specialize in the field. The SDH subtitles for Kinopoisk’s original films and TV series are created in Russian, but are not only available to users in Russia. For example, viewers in Kazakhstan and Belarus can already watch the films Major Thunder: Plague Doctor, Thunder: A Difficult Childhood, Major in Sochi, the TV series Major, The Method, Fandorin.Azazel, and others with such subtitles.

The advent of SDH subtitles is the beginning of a major effort to create a more accessible environment for Kinopoisk’s diverse audience. The number of films and series adapted for hearing-impaired and deaf users will increase.
